Operations Assistant Position

ABOUT US

We are a business training and consulting firm based in Parktown and we are looking to hire an Operations Assistant.

This position will be primarily remote (work from home) but you will need to come into the office in Parktown periodically (could be as often as once or twice per week).

The initial training period will also be at our Parktown offices for the first few weeks.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS ABOUT

As the Operations Assistant you will be involved in a wide variety of activities in the business.

Some of the key responsibilities (which will change over time) include:

• Assisting students over Teamviewer with software installation issues. 
• Managing online student support issues (login issues, etc). 
• Assisting with sales telephone calls during busy periods. 
• Managing our social media platforms. 
• Writing and editing of content / articles.
• Performing various marketing and admin related tasks.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

As this role encompasses a variety of activities, it requires someone who is flexible and willing to learn new things i.e. someone who is comfortable being a “jack of all trades”. 

• We’re passionate about delivering great customer service and you must be too !
• You must be well spoken and be able to converse over the phone and in person in a professional manner.
• You must have good writing skills (and good spelling).
• You must be very comfortable working with computers and the internet in general. You will be learning how to use various new software. 
• Some background in Accounting / Bookkeeping would be advantageous (even if only at Matric level).
• Sage Pastel Partner experience is also advantageous but not required. You should be open to learning and to getting certified on Pastel. 
• We want someone who will take the initiative to solve problems.
• You need to be able to work on your own and be someone we can rely on to make sure that the job gets done i.e. you need to be a self starter and be able to work without being micromanaged.
