Job Specification
We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Sales Consultant to join our training company. This multifaceted role combines inbound lead management, customer advisory services, and proactive business development activities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing multiple communication channels while demonstrating initiative during quieter periods.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Lead Management & Course Advisory
- Handle incoming telephone enquiries from prospective clients
- Provide expert guidance on course selection, including SAGE accounting and SAGE payroll training programmes
- Assess client needs and recommend the most appropriate software package and course option
- Deliver consultative advice to help clients make informed decisions about their training requirements
- Manage WhatsApp chat enquiries, responding promptly and professionally to online messages
- Provide the same high standard of course advisory services across all communication channels
Outbound Business Development
- Conduct proactive outbound calling campaigns to generate new business opportunities
- Execute LinkedIn outreach strategies to connect with potential clients
- Self-manage workload during periods when inbound activity is lower
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities independently
- Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective clients
Administrative Duties
- Complete necessary administrative tasks related to client enquiries and bookings
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales activities
- Support general office administration as required
Essential Requirements
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner
- Strong written communication abilities for chat and email correspondence
- Ability to explain technical course information in an accessible way
- Fast and accurate typing skills for managing online chat conversations
Personal Attributes
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and ability to work independently
- Proactive approach to workload management
- Comfortable switching between reactive (inbound) and proactive (outbound) activities
- Resilient and persistent in pursuing business development opportunities
Technical Skills
- Strong computer literacy and comfort with digital tools
- Ability to navigate multiple systems and platforms simultaneously
- Quick learner who can master new software and processes
Advantageous Experience
- Previous call centre or customer service experience
- Sales or business development background
- Experience with CRM systems
- Knowledge of SAGE software products (training will be provided)
- LinkedIn prospecting or social selling experience
